Three More Lovecraftian Horrors!

Well I guess we're doing another one of these. So let's talk some more Lovecraftian Horrors. I think we've gone over what Lovecraftian Horrors are enough, so let's just get straight to the Horrors.

Splendor Man

Splendor counts as much as Slender, because they're basically the exact same thing, one just isn't evil. Splendor birthed from a YouTube video, in which we shows up to make people happy. Though, he was originally happy and nice, with the internet, things change. Splendor Man became a part of the contemporary Slender Man Mythos.

As stated above, he isn't as happy anymore. People have adapted him into contemporary, he is often depicted as Rage Splendor Man, where he is much more evil looking and scary, with a red lined mouth and red pupils. And in his rage form, he's evil, and scary, and way, way, way cooler.

Splendor Man appears in my on-going series SlenderTruth, which you can read here!!! - [LINK]

Nyarlathotep
It just now accrued to me that we've been taking about Lovecraftian Horrors and we haven't included a monster created by Lovecraft himself. So why not include Nyarlathotep? I really like the common interpretation of Nyarlathotep, even though I tried reading the debut story, and couldn't follow it in anyway.

I do know what he is though, I just didn't read his book, this is how I am with most of Lovecraft's Horrors. I don't have a lot to say about Nyarlathotep though.

The Operator
So because I'm lazy, I'm gonna include another version of slander man... Yay! The Operator is from Marble Hornets, and in my opinion, the scariest version of Slendy to ever be.

The Operator, though, isn't really a different version of Slendy, well according to the creators of Marble Hornets that is... But he's still Slendy, tee hee.

Marble Hornets doesn't even use the Slender Mythos apparently, which also means that Masky and Hoody aren't really proxies.

Welp, that's it for now, this little series could very well last after the Halloween season. But for now, it's over... Maybe...

Children of Lemongrab

This is gonna be a short one today, and I thought we should talk Adventure Time, seeing as I'm a huge fan, and it's a pretty popular show. But it took me awhile to decide on what to talk about. And finally I've decided on what to write about, THE CHILDREN OF LEMONGRAB!!!

Well they're really not his children, but he did make them - with the help of Lemongrab II of course. The first appearance of a Lemon person is in the episode "Too Young" as a lemon Camel, as seen below.

The Lemon people come in many different forms and shapes, such as...

...Turkeys and weird naked dudes...

...Whatever this thing is...

...Big ass snails...

...And whatever the hell this thing is.

Lovecraftian Horrors part 2

And here begins the second part of the Lovecraftian Horrors article. Time to talk about more ancient, eldritch creatures and beings.

Red
Red is one of many Lovecraftian Horror from the NES Godzilla Creepypasta. I really can't say if Red or the game is the Lovecraftian Horror though, but I like to think that Red is the Horror. Every creepypasta fan knows Red, but just in case you don't, Red comes from the world Zenith, a demonic world full of fucked up shit, like flying tape worm things, creatures made entirely of other Godzilla monsters. and of course Solomon!!! Red is one of my favorite creeps, and I really hope he makes an appearance in Godzilla Replay.

Pennywise the Dancing Clown
Pennywise the Dancing Clown, also known as It, the main antagonist from Stephen King's It, is a pretty famous Lovecraftian Horror. An ancient creature, that wakes up ever once in a while just for the sake of eating children... YAY!!! I've never read the book, I never really plan to, because of how freaking large it is, but I have seen most of the mini series, which I plan to finish sometime soon. Pennywise the Dancing Clown takes the form of your fears, but seems to enjoy being a clown most of the time. I guess he uses the clown so much because it's such a common fear, and well, it's fucking creep as hell in the movie. Of course everyone knows it's Tim Curry playing Pennywise, but What a lot of you don't know, is that that's Tim Curry's real hair.

The Thing
The Thing is one of my favorite monsters ever. Coming one of the greatest movies ever, and a personal favorite of mine. A great example of a Lovecraftian Horror, as is the movie, using xenophobia, paranoia, and of course weirdness.

One of those creatures that can transform itself, which most Lovecraftian Horrors can. The creature comes from an ancient spaceship, which crashes in the Antarctic. After which, thousands of years later, a Norwegian crew digs them out of the ice. And of course, it starts killing people one after another, and then Kurt Russel finds it later on. After the others find it, they all get killed and assimilated, except for Kurt Russel and Childs.

And so that's it. Maybe we'll do another part of this series, we'll just have to wait and see.

Lovecraftian Horrors

Of course we all know Lovecraft, but what many don't know, is that he is the grandfather of an entire genre. Lovecraftian Horror is a genre that deals with the cosmic, the weird, and of course tentacles. Slender Man, Pennywise the Dancing Clown, and The Thing are all examples of Lovecraftian Horrors, monsters that can shape shift, are amorphous, can cause madness just by seeing them, or are at the very least, tributes to Lovecraft's writing. And today, we'll be talking about some Lovecraftian Horrors.

Hedorah
I'f you ask me, Hedorah put all of Lovecraft's Outer Gods to shame. Lovecraft would died from amazement to see Hedorah in all his pollution glory.  Hedorah all most deserves his own article this Halloween, but because we are talking about Lovecraftian Horrors, I had to include him.

Hedorah comes from the Godzilla Series, one of the last places you'd expect to a Lovecraftian Horror. Hedorah comes to Earth on a meteor as a group of microbes. The microbes quickly feed on the pollution of Japan's ocean and grow and evolve into four different forms. He also can change instantly back to each of these forms and then back again.

Watch his movie, it's incredible, and probably the strangest Godzilla movie ever made. It seems to be made for people on strong, strong hallucinogenic drugs. With cartoons, strange fish mask night clubs, and of course, Godzilla. So what more could you want in a movie.

Slender Man
If you've prowled the dark side of the internet for long enough, you know of Slender Man. I personally am somewhat new to the Slender Man Fandom. Only learning of him last year, I was immediately entranced by his faceless beauty.

Slender Man was created by Victor Surge on SomethingAwfulForums. And ever since he's been a huge internet success. Also, he's become a large part of the Creepypasta culture. He's probably the most iconic Creepypasta character ever, with Jeff the Killer following after him.

Hunson Abadeer
Hunson Abadeer appears in the cartoon Adventure Time as the father of one of the series' most iconic characters, Marceline. An ancient creature coming from the Nightosphere, this demonic creature makes his appearance in the episode "It Came From The Nightosphere" and comes to the Land of Ooo, to eat the souls of many creatures. By the end of the episode, he transforms into a badass, soul sucking, eldritch abomination. And then sadly he turns into a big softy after hearing Marceline's french fry song, which you can listen to on the internet, it's become a real song nearly.

That's it for now, this is gonna be a 2 part (maybe more) article, so to be continued.

Stop Motion Mastodon

Today  I discovered one of the greatest things I've ever seen. A fan made stop motion music video, for Mastodon's song Bedazzled Fingernails!!! It features The Creature From The Black Lagoon, Bosk from Star Wars, Eddie from the Iron Maiden album covers, and a Wizard from nothing. The entire thing is the three monsters and one wizard jamming out in the forest.

After awhile a bunch of little critters (not the thing's from the movie) show and start jam'n out with them too!!! It's like the greatest thing ever.

The animation is incredible, plus the music is from my favorite band ever. That's really all I have to say about it though, I just felt like it needed to be shared, plus I thought it was pretty Halloween-Like.

Me and Greedo

"Going somewhere, Solo?" (listen to him sam it, HERE!!!)
Today we start the Halloween 2014 Marathon which will last until Halloween.

And today we shall talk about my favorite Star Wars alien, Greedo. I've always loved Greedo, ever since I saw Star Wars, I immediately connected with Greedo. Maybe it was the way he looked, maybe it was his suspiciously (and somewhat racist) asian sounding voice, or the way he was shot below the table by Han Solo.

When I was probably about six or seven, I was given, a Greedo and Han Solo action figure, I'm not sure which ones, but they had black packaging and they where my favorite toys for  like a week, as new toys always seem to be when you're small. I had Greedo for probably like six months, and one day I couldn't find. And I never saw him again.

Around the same time I had this toy Greedo, I had a nightmare involving an alien that looked just like Greedo. In the dream, this Greedo doppelganger came into my room and stole my toy Greedo. And the thing is, no one believed me in my dream, till they found lotion in the toy box, and they said "I guess you're right, aliens love lotion.", I still to this day, don't know how this came into my mind. But the reason this dream was so scary to me at the time (other than the fact that there were alien thieves in my room), was that it was around the time that my Greedo toy went missing.

That's really my history with Greedo, a strange history if I might add, but I still have one little story to tell. For probably, the last year, I've been searching for a new Greedo action figure for my collection. And I finally got one. Recently I went to a local store called Time Bomb, and picked up a Greedo from the 1990's toy line, and he stands, out of package, on my shelf. I'm still looking though, for a better Greedo, I hope to find the one I had when I was kid, but for now I'll probably get the Saga Legends one.

That's it for now, and I hope this was good start for the Halloween Season, so HAPPY SOON-TO-BE HALLOWEEN!!!

SlenderART

Slender Man Mythos art is a great internet tradition nowadays, and you'll never find more Slender Man art anywhere than DeviantART. DeviantART is the holy grail of Slender Man art, and that's what we'll be talking about today.

I'm really not writing an article today, but just more of a gallery, with a few comments on some of the pictures that I really like.
